Remove YoutubeBookmark extension (Uninstall Guide)

YoutubeBookmark is a potentially unwanted web browser extension that can access your browsing activity and your data on all websites. It won't collect personally identifiable information but it's still fishy to say the least. The reason it has such permissions is actually plain and simple. YoutubeBookmark 1.0 extension uses this information to deliver targeted ads when you browse the web. Usually, it underlines certain words on a web page; it looks like a hyperlink. It doesn't supposed to be there, so it's not only unethical but also may cause problems, for example slow down your web browser. Other then that, this browser extension can also display pop-up ads and redirect you yo misleading or even malicious websites. It can't be good, right? Most users do not remember how they got it. Why? Because they were probably installing something and the Setup made them install third party programs, including YoutubeBookmark. The biggest problem with this extension is that no matter how many times you remove it, it reappears every time you relaunch Google Chrome, Firefox or Internet Explorer. This guide will walk you through removing YoutubeBookmark extension from your computer and web browsers.

The trick is YoutubeBookmark extension has a self-defense mechanism, sort of. You should be able to uninstall extensions via the Control Panel but not this one. When you uninstall YoutubeBookmark program via Control Panel it leaves the Chrome extension as it is. It does remove Internet Explorer add-on, though. To remove this extension from Chrome you will have to delete it manually. It's easy. What worries me the most is the fact that it comes bundled with other adware and spyware. Once it's gone for good, please scan your computer with anti-malware software.

It's very important that you pay attention to the license agreements and installation screens when installing anything. Trust me, reading the the license agreements carefully will save you time and headache in the long run. If an installation screen offers you Custom or Advanced installation options, it is a good idea to select these as they will typically disclose what other 3rd party software will also be installed and allow you to opt out of them. Safe surfing!
