Remove jcs.drivetickets.net pop-up (Removal Guide)

Jcs.drivetickets.net pop-ups may occur when your computer is infected with adware or potentially unwanted programs, for example malicious web browser extensions. This infection isn't exactly the same for everyone because there are at least ten adware programs that may display these pop-ups on infected computers. To identify adware or PUP and remove it from your computer, please follow the steps in the removal guide below.

From a technical point of view, jcs.drivetickets.net is just a website, but the threat comes with the ads it serves. Here's a good example which illustrates how misleading those ads can be:

The pop-up window says that you need to update your Flash player to view the web page, however, there's no video or any other interactive media content on the page whatsoever. At the bottom of the page, it says that instead of downloading Flash player, you will download an application called InstallPath which is some kind of download manager. Turns out, that it offers users to install toolbars, adware and other potentially unwanted software before download Flash Player. Remember, you can easily download the latest version of Flash player from the official website. The same can be said about Java updates. I've seen very similar pop-ups saying that my Java software was outdated even though it was fully up to date. Watch out for these as well!

Jcs.drivetickets.net related adware is usually bundled with freeware. It's very important that you pay attention to the license agreements and installation screens when installing anything. If an installation screen offers you Custom or Advanced installation options, it is a good idea to select these as they will typically disclose what other 3rd party software will also be installed and allow you to opt out of them. If you have any questions, please leave a comment below. Good luck and be safe online!
