How can I get rid of SavingsBull ads?

If you keep getting SavingsBull ads and pop-ups then most likely your computer is infected with adware and probably some other potentially unwanted programs. Adware, PUPs, computer viruses and malware all come with different traits, methods of hijack, motives and symptoms so it's vital that you have a trustworthy anti-malware program installed on your machine as this is the front line of defense against Internet nasties. A decent anti-malware is the best method of identifying and removing any kind of adware or malware and it should also uncover Potentially Unwanted Programs too. We say 'should' because PUPs actually fall into a bit of a gray area and some anti-viruses do have trouble picking them up, which is why we'll take a look at other means of protecting yourself in a moment.

SavingsBull Chrome Extension
SavingsBull has a number of annoying characteristics. One is that it often downloads adware to your PC – and as anyone who's been subjected to pop up advertising can tell you – it's a real pain in the butt! This adware installs a browser extension that can access your data on all websites, read and modify your browsing history and access your tabs and browsing activity. Needless to say, it's a malicious extension that can spy on you. At least it can't steal your passwords. All the collected data is probably used to deliver more relevant ads but since you didn't ask for them in the first place you can safely assume it's an intrusion.

SavingsBull adware displays inline ads by simply underlying certain words in a text. Here's an example:

It also display pop-up ads. Here's one claiming that you need to install Java on your computer. Such ads are very misleading and dangerous. Because you'll get more adware and PUPs on your computer if you choose to follow the on screen instructions rather than actual Java software. It's pretty much the same thing as the fake Flash Player update pop-up.

What is more, this adware program will almost certainly make your computer and internet connection slower. I'm talking about hundreds of http requests to web servers that are used to deliver ads. Every time you open a web page, this aware scans it whole the way to the bottom then underlines certain words and requests ads for those words. At the same time it waits for on-click actions to display pop-ups ads on your computer. So, it's not only annoying but also may cause problems and errors.

If you're a victim of the SavingsBull adware you're probably wondering how it found its way onto your computer in the first place. Well I am sorry to say but the culprit might actually be a little closer to home than you think: you. Such adware programs are often bundled with other software - particularly free software - which means that anything you download without paying for can put you at risk. So if you don't want to miss out on the next episode of your favorite TV show, how can you carry on downloading without inadvertently exposing yourself to adware, spyware or something even worse?

As mentioned, the anti-malware is your best friend - using your PC without one is like playing Russian roulette! But apart from that there are a few steps you can take, the most important one being vigilant when you are downloading software or programs. If a website features numerous garish and disreputable looking adverts and links then avoid it like the plague. You should also read license agreements properly when downloading as most agreements refer to 'special offers'. Don't just point and click – take a moment to read and find out what else you're downloading along with your program. To remove SavingsBull from your computer, please follow the steps in the removal guide below. Please note that removing things you don't recognize in control panel might not help because very often it tries to hide its presence in the system. Better use the removal instructions below. If you have any questions, please leave a comment below. Good luck and be safe online!
