NEW DELHI: While the wait for Samsung's Galaxy S5 smartphone goes on, another upcoming product of the South company has caught the attention of the tech community. The first image of the upcoming professional-level Samsung Galaxy Note Pro tablet has leaked online, courtesy Korean forum Clien.net.
As per the image, the tablet will look similar to Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 edition), the current top model in Samsung's tablet portfolio. However, it will have a 12.2-inch display and will be slightly bigger in size.
The user who leaked the image has also revealed the specifications of the upcoming model. Samsung Galaxy Note Pro, as the tablet is being right now in tech circles, will have display resolution of 2560x1600p and run on Android 4.4 (KitKat). It is said to run on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with 3GB RAM and come with 32GB internal storage.
Other key Samsung Galaxy Note Pro specs are said to be 8MP rear camera, 2MP front camera and 9,500mAh battery. The tablet is expected to be showcased at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in January next year and hit the market in the first quarter.
Apple is also said to be working on an iPad Pro model, which will have a 12.9-inch screen with Ultra HD resolution. This model is rumoured to arrive in the market in October 2014 and replace the 11-inch Macbook Air.
Samsung is also expected to unveil three mid-range tablets and two mid-range phablets at CES. It is also speculated that the company will unveil the Galaxy S5 smartphone in January of February and has reportedly already started mass production of 5.25-inch display with 2K resolution for this model.
