Samsung Galaxy S4 price Just Rs 30,000

The launch of every new flagship is indicative of prices of the previous flagship dropping. And while the launch of Samsung Galaxy S5 is over a month away, the rates of Samsung Galaxy S4 have already taken a deep cut.
In what is perhaps the largest reduction till date, Samsung Galaxy S4 is now retailing around the Rs 30k mark. Launched in March 2013 at Rs 41,500 the flagship has been one of Samsung's most successful phones and a much-loved phone in India. Samsung Galaxy S4 introduced some innovative camera and software features to the world and the phone has seen a success run which still continues.
Samsung launched the Samsung Galaxy S4 in India last April, almost a month after the global launch and soon after the phone was launched, we saw some pretty impressive EMI and buyback schemes. Also, Samsung Galaxy S4 got a price-cut almost immediately a month after launch. Samsung Galaxy S4 was available at Rs 40,300 instead of the Rs 41,500 but that was just a teaser. E-commerce sites continued offering heavy discounts on the phone soon after launch and the phone retailed at much below the launch price.
However, a price drop of nearly 10k was never offered. At around Rs 30,000 the phone is a steal. There's no offical price-cut from Samung as yet but rates on e-commerce sites have already begun falling. And following the e-commerce trend, retailers and local stores are also offering heavy discounts on the phone. Though not a price cut, last week Samsung introduced a buy-back scheme for the Samsung Galaxy S4 offering a Rs 10,000 discount for those who exchange old phones for the S4.
As the date for the launch of the new flagship nears, phone-makers generally offer discounts on the older model hoping to sell as many units as possible. Also, with older generations generations generally discountinued, getting the units at a discount makes it worth the while for both, the maker and the buyer as both profit in the bargain. While there are some who love to stick to newer gadgets, the budget-conscious mentality in India works in the favor of older flagships. Also, with the phone-makers continuing to support the phones and rolling out OTA updates, it isn't really a bad bargain.
Samsung Galaxy S5 is the latest thing and definitely a much awaited device. But Samsung Galaxy S4 is still a phone ahead of it's times. The octa-core processor, HD display, camera software, unique features have set the phone apart and made it a worthwhile flagship. And with the price-cut and the phone slowly entering the mid-range segment from the premium tag, we see an interest in the phone returning.Click here to download all
