Remove PriceChop Spam Ads (Uninstall Guide)

Have you been infected, or are you concerned about, PriceChop ads? Perhaps you're wondering if what you're currently seeing on your computer is a symptom of adware. And you probably want to know just exactly what PriceChop adware can do to you. It's a potentially dangerous program that will display and on your computer labeled "Ads by PriceChop". Some of those ads may be very misleading. This adware may be also installed under different names, for example Pricecahop, PriceoChop, Preicecchop and so on. Scammers use this technique to avoid detection and make malware removal process as difficult as possible. Please use this guide to remove PriceChop and any associated malware from your computer.

PricEchOp 3.9 is the latest variant of this adware. It's a program that typically installs a component onto your PC - usually without you having given it the go ahead. This component displays adverts that have normally been customized to show you products or services that scammers thinks you will be interested in (and therefore, far more likely to spend money). But how on earth would scammers know what ads to show you? And why after searching for holidays in Jamaica do you suddenly start seeing pop-up windows advertising hotels and flights in that part of the world? Is this adware a mind reader or is there something more to it?

While some adware is rather more generic, you will notice that a lot of it seems to know exactly what sort of websites you've been looking at. This is because PriceChop and other similar adware programs track the websites you visit and monitor your Internet browsing habits. The data is relayed back to a scammer who can then show you advertisements that you are more likely to click on.

It might sound all very useful but in fact this form of monitoring your user habits sits uncomfortably with many people. Compounding the unsettling feeling that someone is watching your every move – even if you're only looking at new garden furniture or how to cook the perfect risotto – is the fact that in a lot of cases PriceChop is bundled with spyware.

Spyware is another form of malware which, like adware, monitors and records your online movements. However spyware often has a more sinister game in mind. Spyware often contains something called a keylogger. This notes which keys you are hitting, thus recording your personal conversations and correspondence as well as your passwords, log in details and credit card information. BUT PriceChop cannot steal your passwords or any other valuable information. It tracks your browsing history, search queries and other data related to your browsing habits. The worst part is that associated Price Chop browser extensions are very persistent and even if you manually remove them, they come back once you restart your web browser. What is more, this adware creates a few processes that run in the background and may download additional malware onto your computer.

Less innocuous adware programs take a more aggressive approach than simply trying to point you in the direction of cheap flights to the Caribbean.

Adware can hijack your home page or browser, redirecting you to websites you don't want to visit – these may be of an X rated or illegal nature
Adware can cause problems with other programs installed on your computer – this can compromise your security
Adware has a negative effect on your operating system, slowing down your computer's processor and your Internet connection

How to remove PriceChop? Getting rid of legitimate adware is easy – you should just be able to uninstall the program that it came with. However the more malicious form of adware like PriceChop can be a real pain. If uninstalling the program doesn't work, please follow the the steps in the removal guide below. You will have to run your anti-virus or anti-malware. Restart your computer and run the scan again twice to be sure – some malware can be tough to delete, but a good program should find and delete anything nasty.

If you have questions, please leave a comment down below. I will be more than happy to help you. Good luck and be safe online!
