Well crazy as it may seem to you and me but some people might actually like the fact that when they search in Google for their nearest pizza delivery company, their search results are redirected to another nameless search engine. However, please note that most of the results are misleading to say the least. You might be redirected to a fake Flash player update page or some nameless search page full with spammy and paid search results.
It's nothing new that such browser hijackers come bundled with adware and PUPs that offer you free stuff like emoticons. Whilst other people are not bothered by the trade off of being able to use free emoticons in exchange for constant exposure to adverts in their browser. And it's this ambiguous line between wanted and unwanted that makes it so much harder for your anti-virus software to detect a browser hijacker or a PUP and stop it in its tracks. When you get pop-up ads you can be sure for about one thing: your computer is infected. The good news is that onlinewebfind pop-ups are not 'real' malware. But they do appear for a reason and the it's more than obvious - certain adware or PUP is spying on your browsing activity.
As I said, onlinewebfind virus is usually bundled with freeware. It's very important that you pay attention to the license agreements and installation screens when installing anything. If an installation screen offers you Custom or Advanced installation options, it is a good idea to select these as they will typically disclose what other 3rd party software will also be installed and allow you to opt out of them. If you have any questions, please leave a comment below. Good luck and be safe online!
